IFA

Specialising in sawn timber, from logging to delivery

The “Industrie Forêt Ardennes” sawmill plays a central role in the heart of the Ardennes woodland. Its location close to the Group’s different entities, combined with a transformation policy, is a major asset that provides a secure and local supply for customers.

La société IFA

History

2006

IFA, which was founded in Fumay in 2006, originates from the Etablissements Baret – Europe’s leader for wood sleepers – the needs of which required a new dedicated sawing site for its raw material: oak.

2007

The sawing line dedicated to railway sleepers was installed.

2011

The sawing line dedicated to crossing sleepers was installed.

2013

The acquisition of the Nouyrigat parquetry gave impetus to the creation of a cutting workshop for square-edged sawn timber.

2019

A second line dedicated to square-edged sawn timber and automatic stackers were ordered to ramp up production and improve product quality. Still in an industrial ecological approach, IFA also invested in a shredder to transform its pulpwood.
